Let me emphasize the importance of receipt review by way of a personal anecdote that pulls on the (football) strings of my college memories.
Compensating for the fact that I didn’t add a mani/pedi to my recent spa bill (in which I treated myself to a quarterly massage), I felt entitled to purchase a new nail polish color since they were 40% off! I chose Deborah Lippmann’s
“Fill Me Up Buttercup
” not only for its trendy pop of color but also for the reminiscing memories of college due to The Foundation’s classic tune. Since I had already paid my tab upon arrival, I had to run a separate polish transaction. Surprisingly, after a receipt review I noticed that it rung up full retail at $19. Thankfully, I’m not shy and like any good receipt ref would do quickly educated the receptionist about the sale. She adjusted the receipt with no complaints and off I went with my due savings of $7! Lesson learned: Take a minute to scan your bill before placing your John Hancock on the line; like instant replay challenge rules - every once in a while, it should be worth your while.
